About a month and half ago, I had an idea. I wanted to challenge myself to wearing an outfit which included shoes, jewelry and clothes, that was 100% totally thrifted.
Now granted, I normally wear at least one thing everyday that's thrifted, it's just in my blood. But I began to think that it's pretty rare that everything is completely thrifted.
but then I totally forgot.
So here we are almost 2 months later, and I still haven't blogged about it.
I think it's about time!
Oh, and for any confusion:
(especially since my computer keeps telling me I'm spelling it wrong)
Thrifting
verb.
The act of making a purchase of an item or article of clothing from a thrift store.
It's pretty simple. Everything, and I mean everything down to the shoes on your feet and the earrings hanging on your ear, must come from a secondhand, thrift shop.
(ok, not literally everything. Please don't thrift your underwear... I gotta draw the line somewhere)
Here is my first outfit:
(note: I took these photos two months ago, when the weather still felt spring-y, now it's just hot!)
Jacket: old navy-via Goodwill
skirt: Ann taylor- Goodwill.
okay, do I need to keep saying that? We all know where this outfit really came from ;)
shoes: orig. Kelly and Katie
necklace, tank, and clutch: origin unknown
So how do you think my first outfit turned out?
Please feel free to join me on this challenge! I can't wait!
Sounds super fun and challenging! Cute outfit!
ReplyDeleteThanks Nicole!
DeleteYour skirt is ever so cute! I love it! I loved how you styled it! Okay, too many exclamation marks here. But seriously you look adorable. I thrift a lot too, and my biggest challenge seems to be the shoes. I think I'm a bit of a shoeaholic, and I don't find as many thrifted pairs as I'd like.

I know! I am the same way. Shoes are definitely the hardest thing to find thrifted. What's up with that?!?!
DeleteI like your disclaimer about how not quite EVERYTHING was thrifted. It's good to set boundaries. :P But still, quite impressive. I'm sure I do not have an entire outfit's worth of thrifted clothing. I'd love to get shoes thrifted, but I swear no body around here gets rid of shoes until they are falling apart.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I just felt that it needed to be said... so someone doesn't take it too literally! I totally agree on the shoes and when you do find a pair that's in good shape, they aren't your size! So frustrating!
