Earring Stud Frame Tutorial!

If you're like me, you have a huge collection of stud earrings. The problem is that I have them all shoved in a bowl where I can't see them, so normally, I never end up wearing them. This is where the "A HA!" moment came in. I found a "pretty" way to display my earrings so that I could see every pair.

Here is the tutorial for this beauty!

First I started off with this picture frame. It was originally black. I have no clue where I got this but its been hiding under my bed for a very very long time because I had no idea what to do with it.
After, I picked an acrylic paint color that I liked and painted the frame.

Here is the frame after the first coat. NOTE: I would recommend sanding the frame before you paint because I totally forgot. It would've saved me several coats of paint. After the paint dried, I didn't like how matte it was, so I  sprayed a clear coat of spray paint to make it shine more.

(PS so so sorry about the crappy cell pics)

Then I traced the cardboard backing onto a square of cork board and cut it out.

Next, I picked a pretty fabric ( I cut 1/4 of a yard and had PLENTY left over) and hot glued it to the matting and cork board

I popped it into the frame and there you have it! A beautiful place to hang those earrings!!!

Here it is hung on my wall!

  1. This is a wonderful idea. I have just today posted a jewelry organizer which I made and plan to keep some studs in a box still but this looks amazing - perhaps I will give it a try. Thanks for sharing. Linking up via Blue Cricket Designs.
