WIWW Boots, Finally! 31 Days of LOVE

Howdy! If your new to this neck of the woods, I started documenting my outfits in hopes it would encourage me to get out of my college-girl uniform: yoga pants and t-shirts. So far, so good!

Here's what I wore this week.
Oh, just for clarification, I do, in fact, get dressed on days I don't share here. I just typically forget to take pictures!

Friday:
No, don't shield your eyes from my legs, they are white tights, not untanned legs.
I wore this student teaching.
Dress: Franchescas, Gift
Tights: Brand new from Goodwill
Shoes: Target
Watch: Target
Necklace: Made by me
Earrings: Fossil
See! I don't lie! They ARE tights.
that also may be hiding my super white legs, shh! Don't tell.

Saturday:
Now I realize you're probably thinking "HOLD UP sista, you just said you do this to get OUT of yoga pants, and here you are in said yoga pants." and girl, I getcha.
But, a time comes in a young girl's life where you have to disobey the rules. and when the Color Rad run comes to town, you do.
Also note: I did my first 5K.
Oh wait? I didn't tell you about that? Coming soon, I swear!
I don't think you really would want to replicate this stunning ensemble, but in case, everything is from target. Except the shoes.  Those are from Kohls. Oh, and the wonderful rainbow of colors splattered all over me was provided via the run.

Monday:
I got this outfit idea from this pin:
It looked like the perfect LBD outfit and was dressy enough to wear to teach!
Here's my take
I was pleased that I had actually everything I needed to replicate this look! Minus the belt, they annoy me.
Dress: Old Navy via yard sale
Polka dot Tights: Brand new from Goodwill (if that grosses you out sorry...but, they were still in their original packaging! Which were donated by Target stores by the way.)
Boots: Frye via Last Call
I am so happy I can finally start wearing these boots. I just love them. They make me happy.

Scarf: souvenir from Paris
Watch: Target
Earrings: Target

Tuesday!
I got this outfit inspiration from none other than The Pleated Poppy!
I thought it was perfect for a casual, but put together look!

I wish I was half as pretty (and thin!) as her, but here's my take:
Jacket: LOFT via Goodwill
Tee: LOFT
Jeans: LOFT
Shoes: Toms

and that's it for this week but I honestly can't wait for next week. Here's why.
I'm starting a new outfit challenge for the month of November. Drumroll......
Every wednesday, I'm going to share some outfits that I wore that came straight from Pinterest. I love getting fashion inspiration there and I always seem to pin them and never actually do anything with it. Hopefully by making this challenge I will finally start using those pins! The posts will be like what I did above: I'll share the inspiration picture and then show you my spin/take.
 I can't wait!

Fall Things I'm Loving: 31 Days of LOVE

This weekend, y'all, was the best yet.
Dallas caught a cold front which made saturday's high 50 degrees.
It was heaven and truly felt like fall.
(while it lasts... we will be back in the 90*s this week!)
Either way, here's a few 'autumn' inspired things I've been loving:

1.

Pumpkin Streusel Bread from Target
Oh my word. This stuff is goooood.
We made french toast using this and I swear to you it was the best i've ever had.
I can't wait to have it as toast this morning, too.
Run, don't walk and go get you some!

2.
I've tried scentsy, yankee candle and every other brand out there, and I keep coming back to B&BW.
They not only have every single darn scent out there (every season, too!)
you can actually smell them.
You know how sometimes you light a candle, and you can barely smell it unless you get super close to it?
These fill your entire room with the best smells ever, for real!
For fall, we've been loving Marshmallow Fireside (My fav), Pumpkin Pecan WafflesHarvest Coffee, and Leaves (also my fav).
Oh and they are almost always 2 for $22.
Can't beat that!

3.
Honeycrisp apples.
This puppies are HUGE! I can barely fit them in the palm of my hand.
And boy are they delicious.
Both crisp and perfectly sweet.
Perfection.

Did I mention that you should go get you some?

Styles I Love: BOOTS! 31 Days of LOVE

Fall in fashion blog-land = boots.
Personally, I can't wait to break mine out, but it's still too dang hot.
I've been making up for it, though, by pinning lots of fashion ideas incorporating boots.

Here are a few of my favorites:

Going Darker

I typically have always been blonde (except one time when I decided to dye my hair dark dark brown and it was the biggest mistake of my life.. OK not that big, but still).
I normally only get my hair highlighted about twice a year and cut about 4 times a year. I'm weird, I know. My hair just doesn't need it as much because typically the sun will lighten it and I don't really struggle with damaged hair.

Anyways, that's all to say that I need to go get my hair highlighted and I was thinking of adding more of my natural color in. (I have a light brown natural color, I describe it as squirrel colored). Nothing too stark, just a gradual darkish color. (No, not ombre)
Of course the first place I look for inspiration is Pinterest which really tempts me to want a change for fall!

What do you think? Should I go darker?

I give up...

I've put it off as long as I could but I will officially say I am ready for fall.
I am sick of wearing shorts.
I am sick of 90* weather.
I am sick of summer.

I am ready for boots and pumpkin and crisp fall air.

Oh, and of course pie!

and maybe the fact that jeans can hide a whole lot ;)

I'm ready for Hocus Pocus and Charlie Brown.

but most definitely not football.... Yuck.
(feel free to hate me now)

I am ready for it.
Fall is my most favorite season of all.

Forgive me for not adding sources to the pictures... I saved them a while ago and forgot to post the original source... they all came from pinterest, though!

Pinned it and Tried it:Fall Bucket List

So, During the many times I scrolled aimlessly through pinterest, I stumbled across this pin.
A fall bucket list.
hmm...
I did a summer bucket list with my cousins, and we absolutely loved it.  (sorry, I wish I had a picture, but I couldn't find it.)
We all came up with things we wanted to do, and wrote them down, to be sure no one would forget. and guess what? It worked.

So, when I saw this, I knew this would work the same. There were so many things my family wanted to do, and we couldn't possibly remember them all.
So, we made our own bucket list for fall to make sure!!

So here she hangs on our lovely fridge!

Mine is in no way, shape or form as pretty as the one I saw on pinterest, but it accomplishes the same purpose. Sure, I could've typed it, added some pretty pictures, and used creative colors, but you know what? I love mine just the way it is, crappy handwriting and all.
In case you can't read said handwriting, here is all our "to-do's":

  • Buy pumpkins (we are too cheap to buy from our pumpkin patch, and grocery store pumpkins are just the same!)
  • Halloween decor- which is *almost* complete (I will definitely share as soon as we finish!)
  • Apple orchard
  • Pumpkin Patch (simply just to take pictures and to maybe splurge on one pumpkin)
  • Make Apple juice/pie/cider (With apples from the orchard of course!)
  • Shakespeare in the Park (Macbeth, my fav!)
  • Fall Scented Candles (Bath and Body Works, Spiced cider: Smells amazing)
  • Carve Pumpkins (ones from grocery store)
  • Bridlewood yard sale (the biggest and best neighborhood yard sale around!)
  • Watch Hocus Pocus (halloween wouldn't be complete without it)
  • Pumpkin Spice Lattes
  • Hay rides!
  • Make caramel apples (yum!)
  • Super awesome halloween costume (I already am planning mine; cant wait!)
  • Texas State Fair (for some fried butter and fried jambalaya!)
  • Bake pumpkin bread
  • Make homemade waffles (a tradition)
  • Have an AWESOME halloween party (pretty much guaranteed!)

Hopefully, we can complete it all by the time the season is over, and if not,  there is always next year!
That is the beauty in these, they are flexible!
You should totally make one for your family. Trust me, they will love it just as much as you!
(and it's just plain fun to check the completed things off!)

October has arrived!

I love the month of October. I love the crispness in the air, the smell of spices, the leaves, the fashion, the football, the fair!!!, the candles, pumpkins, the coffee....just about everything.
So I thought I'd start the 31 day challenge with 5 Fall inspired pins!

1. Apple Cider.
Possibly the most delicious stuff ever.
add in an apple cup and a chunk of cinnamon,
and you've got a winning recipe.
I will definitely be trying this!

2.  Fall Fashion
Scarf+ boots= pure happiness in my book
I am so excited to throw on a fallish scarf and a rockin' pair of boots!
I'll even take that pumpkin spice latte, while we're at it!

I plan on replicating this outfit today!

3.  Pumpkin Carving

How cool is this pumpkin!
I cant wait to head out to the pumpkin patch to carve mine like this one!

4.  Halloween Costumes
I love searching for the perfect costume, making the accessories, trying it on multiple times, and finally getting to wear it.
I also love dressing up my poor dog. Torture, I know.
So, when I saw this Chia Pet costume, I about died.

5. Fall/ Halloween Wreaths!
Look at this one! That took some serious skill!
Wreaths are always one of my favorite decorations. In fact, we have one for every season or holiday.
Right now, we have a halloween one up that my mom and I made,
but I love this one too!
