December Update and 2013 Bucket List!

I literally cannot believe that another year has gone by. I think I have finally hit that point where I'm starting to realize how fast time goes by.
In addition to that, 2014 totally feels unreal. When I was younger, I could picture my life and what would be like up until 2012.
Now that we've hit 2014 I feel like I am officially living in the future.

I'm not sure if that made any sense whatsoever, but nevertheless, the year end is upon us.

Looking back at 2013 feels weird... like it all happened in a blur
but at the same time I can remember each detail like it was yesterday.
Time is a cruel, cruel thing.

I figure I'd finish the year off with how I started it.
Last January, I made a resolution to keep track of my monthly goals on here. I can't believe that I actually stuck to it!

To look back at my past goals click here:

And alas, the last month is here.

December Goals:

1. Stop and enjoy the season.
Check! It was a fabulous (but way too short) season!

2.Try to be present more
While I can't say that I've completely committed to this, I certainly made a point to do certain things instead of just waste time on electronics.

3. Finish up the current book I'm reading.
I loved Dark Places. It took me a while to read because I refused to do so at night for fear of nightmares, but I did finally finish it. It's definitely dark and bloody and very gory, but also intriguing and compelling. I'd recommend to those who don't have a weak stomach, but love a good thriller!

So let's see how I did on my 2013 bucket list.
I didn't complete everything on it, but I didn't intend to. It was just a tentative list of things I'd like to accomplish.

My 2013 Bucket List:

-Cut out processed foods-Meh. I won't cross this one out because it would be a lie. But I will say that I've become more aware of the ingredients in foods.
-buy local produce/go to local farmer's market more-
-volunteer somewhere
-have my first giveaway on my blog-I debated back and forth on this one and ultimately decided that now's not the right time. Maybe in the future.
-figure out my college plan
-save my money up for something big- Fail! But hey, I did save up for sheets, which weren't cheap! I also saved to make sure I could give a few gifts for Christmas. I tried!
-bake a blackberry cobbler from scratch
-eat better and be active-The holidays certainly weren't my friend, but looking back on this past year, I made an effort. I want to continue this, but it's a marathon not a sprint.
-make new friends
-work on my scrapbook
-go on a road trip
-write a letter to myself to open in 10 years- I finally did this on the day I graduated!
-go camping
-read at least 8 books-
-teach myself how to sew-I've accepted that this didn't happen and I am at peace. (LOL!)

So all in all, 2013 was a success. While the year did bring it's fair share of challenges,  heart aches and pain, it also brought a lot of good, sweet memories.

November Update and December Goals!

Before I begin the goals, I need to mention one thing!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!
Thank you for loving my unconditionally. I know it's cliche, but words cannot express how thankful I am to have you in my life. You make this world a better place and I am a better person because of you
"I'm everything I am because you loved me."
I love you.

****************************************

I'm back for another update on my monthly goals!
Here's a recap of November Goals:

1. Enjoy my birthday!
Check! It was fabulous!

I'm in the home stretch and I cannot wait to be done. 5 classes plus labs and observations (and work!) has literally killed me. I can't wait to sleep!

3. Save up a bit for Black Friday
This year was awesome! I finally felt like an adult when I had to buy new sheets for myself!

4. Start the Transfer Process for University
dragging my feet in the sand.
*said in a winy kid's voice*
but I dooonnnn'ttt wannnnnt toooooo!
(I do, but it's a long and confusing process)
getting there, though.

5. Work on Christmas Presents
So far I've crossed three people off my list!

and now for....
December Goals:

1. Stop and enjoy the season.
The holiday season seems to go by in the blink of an eye (I'm a poet and didn't even know it!)
So amidst  the hustle and bustle, I want to stop and smell the balsam. I want to go christmas light looking, drink too much hot chocolate and listen to Bing Crosby.

2.Try to be present more
This kinda goes hand in hand with the first one, but I find myself on the computer too much and kinda half-living in the past and the future. I want to be present!

3. Finish up the current book I'm reading.
I wish I had more time to devote to reading, but as soon as the semester is over, I will!

That's it for now, I can't really think of anything else to add right now.
I'll check back in at the end of December and tell ya how I did!

September Update + October Goals

I'm back for another update on my monthly goals!

September Goals:

1. Keep up with Algebra
I am terrible at math. There's no other way around it. I'm working hard, doing all my homework and quizzes. I got a 66 on my first test, so that kinda stinks. I will definitely be going in for tutoring.

2. Work on my Migraine Experiment
I can report that it's inconclusive. I don't think they correlate, at least not for me. I exercised and still got headaches. So who knows.

3. Use my planner!!!
I can't live without my planner! With 5 classes but work to keep up with, I have a lot to remember. I love being able to know exactly what I need to complete and when. Like I said, can't survive without it.

4. Catch up with my Online Shop
I added lots of new items (lots of jewelry), so that's exciting! I can't wait for fall yard sales to get some great deals!

5. Read More, Watch less TV
Check! I've read two books this month: Lunch in Paris and Sarah's Key.
Lunch in Paris was ok, and I liked Sarah's Key (although I thought it was dumb how they compared a woman's pregnancy drama to the Holocaust. I would've loved it if that aspect of the story was gone and it just focused on the war.) I haven't seen the movie yet, and I'm not sure if I want to :)

My 2013 Bucket List:

-Cut out processed foods-work in progress. Darn oreos!
-buy local produce/go to local farmer's market more-
-volunteer somewhere
-have my first giveaway on my blog-again, work in progress
-figure out my college plan
-save my money up for something big-I doubt if this is going to happen... ha!
-bake a blackberry cobbler from scratch
-eat better and be active- tracking my calories and also started the Couch to 5k program.
-make new friends -work and school! Yay!
-work on my scrapbook
-go on a road trip
-write a letter to myself to open in 10 years
-go camping
-read at least 8 books-
-teach myself how to sew

and now for....
October Goals:

1. Yard Sales!!!
There's nothing better than a good yard sale! Fall is the perfect time of year for them. There's something about waking up early in the crisp fall air with a cup of coffee, whilst driving around town searching for deals that just makes me so happy.

2. Stop Procrastinating
I don't know if I can actually do this, but we will see.

3. Switch my closet from summer to fall!
bring on the sweaters, boots and coats!

4. Continue on the Couch to 5k
The Color Run is on the 26, and I need to be prepared!

I'll check back in at the end of October and tell ya how I did!

June Update and July Goals

I'm back for another update on my monthly goals!

June's Goals:

1. Just say yes....
Yes, Yes, Yes

2. Do something active for at least an hour once everyday.
So, we rode our bikes up to 7/11, walked laps around the baseball field, swam in the ocean, ran around Busch Gardens trying to beat out the lines, rode our bikes around the neighborhood, swam in a pool...etc. I love summer!

3. Less junk food and more veggies.
Now, I can't say that I've consumed more veggies than junk food, but I've definitely eaten more veggies than I usually do! I really do love fresh fruit and veggies, so I plan on continuing to make better choices and substituting the junk food for 'cleaner' options.

4. Register for Fall Classes
I swear this is the most stressful thing ever. Trying to balance my work schedule and finding the classes I need to take, plus finding the right campus...I'm stressed just remembering it! But I did it anyways, and I am officially registered for my last semester at my local community college! By December, I will have my Associates of Arts in my hand!!!! Yes!!!

5. Start a new book
I finally finished The Paris Wife, and really really liked it! I definitely recommend it! Now, I've started "Love Walked In" So far I'm not impressed, but we'll see.

2013 Bucket List:

-Cut out processed foods
-buy local produce/go to local farmer's market more- A reason why I love Florida! Great produce stands!
-volunteer somewhere
-have my first giveaway on my blog-COMING SOON! Very soon! I promise!!!
-figure out my college plan-I'm pretty sure I've decided which school I am transfering to! yay! I keep switching back and forth, but I've narrowed it down to two!-Here's to my last semester before I get my AA!
-save my money up for something big-YAY! I am so excited, but saving is hard!! Ok, Kate Spade sales haven't helped, but I am buckling down this month!

-bake a blackberry cobbler from scratch-Hopefully I will be able to do this when I visit my Nana this month!

-eat better and be active-My aunt and I are starting to walk, and eat healthier. Heres to hopefully getting a bikini bod! HA! who am I kidding. Like I said, getting better slowly but surely.

-make new friends-sorta kinda maybe?

-work on my scrapbook- it took me a while to figure out where I put it, but I found it and even finished it! I am now working on my next one!  Started some new pages!!!

-go on a road trip-For the past three weekends, we've driven to three different cities in Florida. So much fun!
-write a letter to myself to open in 10 years
-go camping-So, we went 'glamping' in a cabin. Does that count?
-read at least 8 books- 3 down, 5 to go :)
-teach myself how to sew

and now for....
July's Goals:

1. Do my daily devotional
(I'm usually pretty good at this, but sometimes I make it a chore instead of a priority.)

2. Continue doing something active for at least an hour once everyday.

3. Stress less

4. Read more (and pick better books!)

There you have it! I'll check back in at the end of the month!
