What I Wore Wednesday!

Hey all! Welcome to what I wore wednesday. 

I know that Lindsey at the Pleated Poppy started WIWW because she is a stay at home mom and often found herself wearing sweats.

Now, obviously, I'm not a mom, but I did see myself wearing nothing but T-shirts and sweats to class. 

So many college students just roll out of bed and throw on whatever is closest. 

I was one of them,

and I hated it. 

I felt so bad about myself.

Enter: WIWW.

I now put 10 extra minutes into my appearance, 

and it makes a world of a difference. 

Plus, it is so much fun looking at all the other "linkers"!

So, today

I am sharing my week in fashion with you!

Thursday:

Ok, so lets get real.

I didn't actually change into this until 5:00pm.

but hey,

it is what it is.

So, needless to say, I wore this to thanksgiving dinner.

(and due to lack of planning, I ended up wearing this black friday shopping.)

Monday:

So, obviously, looking through these pictures, you can tell I live in Texas.

The temperatures can literally change in seconds.

I originally had on jeans, but changed into shorts because it was hot.

Later, as I was leaving to work, the temps dropped again!

So, I changed back into jeans.

I was so sad to hear that Allora Handmade was clearancing out her signature rosies.

But I ended up scoring this necklace for a great price

.... and I have been wearing it non-stop ever since.

Tuesday:

As you can tell, I hardly wear anything but goodwill.

It literally pains me to pay full price for something.

but when I saw this sweater at Khols...

I fell in love.

and almost bought it for $36.99 a few weeks ago.

I know, CRAZY!

But I didn't.

and I am so glad I did because it was on sale for black friday!

I ended up scoring it for $14.99 after sales and coupons.

Still pricey in my mind , but I love it.

and $14.99 is a lot better than $36.99

How was you're thanksgiving?

Mine was fabulous.

It spent eating yummy food and laughing way too hard with friends and family.

I also discovered something else over the holiday.

 My super cute doggie has found her favorite spot in the new place already.

 Yep! You're seeing this right!

She loves to sit under my shower curtain and watch me get ready.

Weird and slightly abnormal? 

Yes.

Adorably cute?

Absolutely

But that's why I love her.

Is she not precious!?!?!?!

Time Growing Old Teaches All Things

Wow. I have had a crazy three weeks. 

My grandparents came into town.

We packed a 5 bedroom house in 3 days.

We held a massive yard sale.

Moved all our belongings into a 1 car garage

stayed in our friends apartment for 10 days,

which included taking care of a farm (literally)

and finally, 

We have moved into our new place

and have been unpacking everything to fit in our 2 bedroom apartment.

whew.

That was a mouthful.

and even though it may sound like a lot,

I feel like time has been flashing by.

Now, this isn't a new concept to me.

I have been feeling this way for a while actually, 

but these last 3 weeks, it has intensified.

Let me rewind for a minute.

When I was a little girl, the one thing I remember my dad telling me was "When you get older, you will blink and the day will be done. Time will flash before your eyes faster than you can ever realize."

I remember laughing at him.

I couldn't believe him because I felt as if days just dragged on, and everything was so far away. 

But one day, when I "grew up" I started to realize that time never works in your favor.

I realized my dad was right. 

I feel as if just yesterday was halloween. I cannot believe that we are already in our 3rd weekend in November.

It's surreal to me that I will be graduating with an associates degree in a few short months.

I cannot fathom the fact that my youngest brother will be 16(!!!!) in a few days. 

I can't believe that I have been working at my "new" job for 3 months!

I dont understand why christmas music is playing. Wasn't it just fourth of july?

Time.

It's only relative to minutes, hours, days.

But what is spent during those measurements of time are what define our lives.

So, instead of fretting over lost time, 

I need to focus on finding it.

Instead of complaining about passing time, 

I need to live it.

and so today, I will spend my 19th birthday thanking God for blessing me with another year on this beautiful, yet broken world.

Instasunday-Finally!!

And...I'm back.

I know, I know, It's been way too long,

but I have an excuse.

I've moved in record time, 

and am staying at a friends before our apartment is ready.

The problem is their Wifi barely works (goes in and out).

but I am grateful for a warm bed.

and to be honest, I am enjoying the break form internet. 

But I have collected several Insta pics the last few weeks, 

So I am sharing today!

Seeing we dont have a kitchen currently means that I have exasperated all my fast food joints.

So, I have had to be creative. 

So, of course, I found lunch at my favorite place. ever. 

and it was delicious. 

This picture was for an essay I wrote about buying used clothes. I found these fantastic pair of loft skinnies for $5.99

Score. 

This is what sunday night looks like in my household.

We all drive around on trash night, looking for any awesome finds.

I have scored many times!

Moving=yard sale.

yep, everything must go!

After an exhausting day running a yard sale, we refueled with one of the best restaurants ever. 

seriously, it is delicious. 

egg mcmuffin and waiting on my car to be fixed.

not a fun way to spend a morning.

I wish I could've been resting like she was so very comfortably.

Jealous. 

YAY! I voted for the first time ever! 

I was so excited to be able to, and yet so incredibly humbled at this incredible blessing to be able to have a voice in my country. 

First red cup of the season.

A quick update...

Sorry you've been hearing crickets around here recently. In the last week, my mom, brothers, grandparents and I have packed and moved a 5 bdrm house into a 2 bdrm apartment.
It has been crazy! So, if you have been wondering where I have been, it's because I haven't had 5 minutes to sit and breathe. That's life!
