Weekend Wrap Up {A day late}

*This post was supposed to go up yesterday, but for some reason (my error) yesterday's and today's got switched*

Whew. The last few days have been a whirl wind.
I'm in the final days of summer up on the mountain, I leave tomorrow.
*tear*
But I'm ready. I'm homesick, miss my doggie, and am ready to have my own bed again!

Anyways, this past weekend was super busy, but fun-filled at the same time.
I'm wrapping it up for ya today!

Friday:
We spent the day outside ATVing, fishing, fire building, and bird house building.
My grandpa, cousin, and I worked on hoisting the birdhouse we handmade because if it's not suspended, the birds won't nest  due to those silly squirrels.
We finished the day with watching, my current favorite movie, The Breakfast Club.

Saturday:

We woke up early to go back to Chick-fil-a to have their breakfast buffet.

mmmmm.... So good. Because the picture is a bit blurry, I will gladly go into detail of what my breakfast consisted of:
Grits, Bacon, Eggs, Biscuits, Chicken, Sausage, potatoes.
ahhh, I'm telling you, it's amazing.

Then, we went to Goodwill and found a couple of things.
{I came out with two new books!}

After that, we went over to tour Berry College. It was such a cool experience.
Martha Berry was such an amazing woman who really revolutionized education in the United States!
By the way, does the picture above look familiar to you?
Well, it does to me! This was the plantation house they used in the movie "Sweet Home Alabama", which just so happens to be a favorite of mine.

Our trip was cut short because our Sweet Jakey, got sick.
So, we headed back up the mountain.

Later that evening, we went over to Cloudland Canyon State Park for their annual Star Party!

A professor came and taught us all about summer stars, then once it got dark enough, we set up these huge technical telescopes and looked at the stars. It was clear enough that we could see Saturn! I've never seen a planet up close like that before, so I thought it was pretty amazing.

Sunday:
better known as hodge-podge day

We did a little bit of this, and a little bit of that.
First, My nana and I made the best french toast ever.
Then we worked it off by working outside in the heat.
We were trying to re-uposlter a chair and literally had to pick the glue off with screwdrivers.
Don't worry, I'll show you guys the before and after!

Then, we cooled off by watching.... you guessed it
Sweet Home Alabama.
I just had to see the scenery we saw the day before.

Then, I made cookies.
yum.

and we concluded the day by fishing!

Jakey caught a large bass

and I caught....

a log.
Yep. I caught nothing.
boooo!

We had fun, nevertheless,
and even Charlotte had to join in on the fun!

It was a great weekend and one I will remember forever.
Love you Nana and Papa!
and Jakey!

Weekend Wrap Up: Pizza and Pedicures

Well, that sure went fast!
I feel like I blinked and the weekend was over!
{I also feel like I say that a lot}

Friday night:

I babysat.
Fun stuff, I know :)
but it really was because I do love my job, and also I got to play with these guys.
SO cute.

Saturday:

My mom and I had bought a groupon a while ago for manis and pedis,
so we treated ourselves to a day of relaxation!
It was amazing
and so very relaxing.

Then we went to lowes.
not relaxing.
We couldn't find what we needed (screws, of all things)
So our trip took twice as long as we planned.

Eventually we did find the screws and went home to get started on a project:

We finally hung up all our necklaces!
Yes, this is a collection of both mine and my moms.
and No, this isn't all of them.
Sad (or not) but true.

{please note that the picture is not level, but the hooks are! :) }

as a reward we ordered pizza.
ahh, so good!
and we had a "picnic" in bed.
It was awesome.

we finished with the most amazing cheesecake ever.
for real.

And we concluded the night with a marathon of pawn stars.

Sunday:

We went to church
and the sermon was about telling our stories.
if you read this post, then you'd agree with me in thinking that God was trying to tell me something ;)

And then was the dreaded trip to costco.
ughh.
Normally, I love going but on the weekends, it's terrible!
It was packed!

Oh, and I cleaned and cleaned and organized and organized.
I felt so accomplished!

After, my brothers, mom and I all had a family dinner.
Spaghetti and meatballs of course.

As soon as we finished we turned on the Oscars!
I love watching the pre-show, just like any other girl

Personally, I really really liked Amanda Seyfried in Alexander McQueen

So classic! I loved how feminine her makeup and dress were. Plus that lilac looks stunning on her.
She won best dressed in my book.

I have to say though, I loved Jessica Chastain, too!

She looked like a gorgeous but classier Jessica Rabbit!
I loved the old hollywood feel she pulled off so effortlessly.
Plus, she seems liked such an amazing person in real life!

and that was my super super exciting weekend.
not.
But it was good, nevertheless.

Happy Monday!

Weekend Wrap-up: Garage Sales and Baby Kisses

Ugh. Is it really monday?
No. no way.
I will not accept this.

Anywho, this weekend was packed full, so I'm wrapping up my weekend for ya!

Friday, as I'm sure you can guess, My mom and I hit up our favorite store:
Goodwill of course.
We didn't find much because we went so late in the day.
{I've found that it's best to thrift shop earlier in the day because everything's less picked over}
but I did find two things:

I bought two storage containers for under my sink in my bathroom for $4.
Have you ever noticed that girls tend to save a lot of "Goo"?
You know, shampoo, lotion, lip gloss.
{Jenna Marbles made a whole video (skip to 1:07) on this topic that she calls "Goo Hoarding"}
warning: video does contain naughty words ;)
Anyways, I bought these because
a. they were cheap (they run at about $9 at target for 1!!!!)
b. they were brand new at goodwill (donated by target actually)
c. I have a lot of goo to contain

and that concluded our  Über exciting friday night.

Saturday morning, I helped out a friend host a yard sale.

They were moving and had a lot of stuff.
This picture was taken at the tale end of the sale.
We sold almost everything!
(well, at the end, we started telling everyone "Everything's 10cents!")
that really got rid of a lot.

Then, as predictable as I am,
I went to TJmaxx/Homegoods
Where I really really wanted to take each one of these pictures home with me.
{especially the smaller pinkish one with the books and perfume}
But I refrained because I literally don't have any wall space left.
Unless it's ok to start hanging things from your ceiling?

After, I went to babysit this sweet angel.
I joke with her mommy that she named her after me.
Her name is caroline and that's my middle name.
oh, that's why I sometimes go by AC by the way.
You know, for Amber Caroline ;)

Sunday was a PJ kind of day.

In fact, I didn't get out of them till about 1!
I also got to snuggle with this cutie

When I finally decided to get out of bed, I worked on this little project.
Details soon, of course!

We finished off the weekend with a wonderful family dinner.
It was awesome!
(thanks mom!)

and that was my weekend.
How was yours?

Weekend Wrap Up: Goodwill and Cupcakes

After such a drag of a week, I don't think I have ever been so excited to see the weekend come.
It was a much needed break.

Friday:
Since I don't have class or work on Fridays, I slept in! Well, actually, I had to take my mom to work early in the morning so I sorta didn't.
but as soon as I got home, I went back to sleep
and did just that until noon.
it was amazing.
Then I watched a Beyond Scared Straight marathon. Have you ever watched this show? It's crazy, and somehow I'm addicted.
After doing nothing for the majority of the day, I finally got dressed to go see Identity Thief.
My thoughts? Really hilarious, but totally unbelievable.
I laughed the entire time though!

After, we hit up TJmaxx of course
where apparently it's okay to wear your PJ's:

Don't look too close.

Saturday:
We woke up early and went yard saling.
We found almost nothing, but it's not that season yet.
After that, we napped.
it was simply amazing.

Then, we went to goodwill.
Because no saturday would be complete without it.

My mom got this owl to spray paint:

and I found this Michael Kors sweater for $2.99:
This picture is terrible and doesn't do it justice.

I also found this dress, which I think may actually be a night gown:
I did a double take on the tag.
It's legit Vera Wang.
no, not the Kohls vera wang.
Like the real deal.
This Vera.

So I was excited about that!
Then we finished the day with SNL.
which stunk. big time.

Sunday:
Church, errands and the grammys.
oh, and I finally had my cupcake:

It was goooooood.
