What I Wore Wednesday

I feel like a failure at this. I know you guys are probably sick of my excuses about WIWW, but here I go again.
It's still so dang hot here. Trust me, I really would like to rip out my jeans and not come out of them until next May, but I physically can't unless I want to die from a heat stroke.
Apparently this week I really liked baseball tees. Oh, for some reason both times they had something on them by accident. Oops.

Friday:
(This time it was lint)
Shirt-Forever 21, $9
Skirt-thrifted, h&m, $3
Flats-Sam Edelman via Last Call, $34
Earrings- Everyday Icing, $13
SHould I do a separate post about our halloween decor this year? let me know!

Monday:
(and this time it was water from emptying the dishwasher)
Shirt-Kohls, $7
Shorts- thrifted, Kohls, $2
Toms-Neimans, $45
Necklace- Etsy, $10
Sunglasses-Kohls, $4

and that's all, folks. Sorry, hopefully next week will be better! *Fingers crossed*

What I Wore Wednesday

Slowly but surely I'm getting back into the swing of things.
I've been in a bit of a fashion rut because I am so sick of wearing shorts, but its too hot to wear anything but shorts. I also have less time than I did before to get ready in the morning, so it makes it harder to really put thought into my outfits. I just throw on whatever's closest. These two were both of those things: quick and cool.

dress: Elle/Kohls via Goodwill $3.50
shoes: Goodwill $4.00
earrings: souvenir from France
glasses: Rayban $40

top: old navy via goodwill $1.50
shorts: GAP via Gw $2
flats: Antonio Milani via Gw $5.00
earrings: target $8

Wednesday's Wardrobe: Summer Days

Oh, man. It's hot!
I know, I know, I am from Texas and I should be used to it by now,
but every year I swear it gets worse.
Please tell me I'm not the only one!

Anyways, here's what I wore this week, when I wasn't in a tank top and workout shorts. (a.k.a. my summer 'uniform')

I looooove the color of this top! It's a pale aqua, maybe a bit minty with more blue than green. It's a thick linen (Surprisingly not too hot). I was so upset because the tag was cut out! It feels very well made!
Top, Brand unknown; goodwill- $4
Shorts, Tommy Hilfiger; Goodwill-$3
Sandals, Kelly and Kaite; Goodwill-$4
Earrings, Target; $7

*excuse the random box of beads laying on the ground ^*
Tank (a step up from my 'uniform'), Loft; Goodwill- $3
under tank, target-$8
shorts, Banana Republic; Goodwill-$3
Sandals, Tory Burch; Goodwill-$2 (Quite possibly my best find ever, seeing that they retail for over $200!!!)
Sunglasses, Ray Ban; Last Call (Plus my mom's discount)-$40

Just out of the shower after a 5 mile bike ride
Dress; unknown brand; Goodwill -$5
sandals, Forever 21; $8

There you have it. Super casual (You can see I was certainly not going to be bothered drying my hair in the last pic) ;)
But cool enough for the summer heat.

How do you dress to stay cool?

Wednesday's Wardrobe: The Maxi Skirt &100% Thrifted?

Ok, so I know I officially ended my challenge last week, but as I was pulling together the photos for todays post, I noticed something:

everything I was wearing, except my jewelry & tank, was thrifted.
I can't kick the habit.
I just can't escape it, but I'm not complaining one bit!

I loved this maxi skirt the instant I saw it amidst the dingy t-shirts and 80's rompers.
It literally feels like I am wearing pjs.
Best find ever?
maybe. for now.

Denim top; calvin klein via goodwill $4
skirt; American Rag via GW $5
Sandals; kelly and kaite, via GW $2
Tank; target $8
Earrings; target $8
necklace; Lisa leonard (petite crest) via a gift

total:
$27

What I Wore Wednesday

Well, I only have two outfits to share.
But one is really really important.
Last week, since I live in Dallas, I was able to visit the Blissdom Handmade Market Place.
Which basically means that I got to meet some of my favorite bloggers!
Now, trying to find the perfect outfit only took 500000 tries.
and I'm pretty sure my closet looks like a hurricane still.
So wanna see what I picked?

I definitely played it safe outfit wise.
I wanted to be comfortable in my own skin, so that's why I chose a flowy top and heels.
Because lets face it, I'm no model. I'm short and curvy.

Shirt/dress: Goodwill $2.99
Jeans: LC for Kohls via goodwill $5.99

earrings: etsy (sorry, I cant remember which shop)
and the necklace was a find from the market!

I wore my go-to comfy wedges from target.

Next was friday's outfit:
(why, yes this is a shameless picture taken in Old Navy's dressing room.)
My top is Prabal Grung for target, which I showed in this post.
It was on clearance for like $9
Jeans are the same from the outfit before
(Shh... it's our little secret!)
and my shoes are from goodwill which I revamped myself.
Earrings were a Franchescas clearance find for like $6

and my necklace is the same from before.
It's a Lisa Leonard.

and that's all!
Come back tomorrow to hear all about who I met at blissdom (although if you saw my instagram, then you already know!) and what I got and all that jazz!

Linking up with the Pleated Poppy!

Wednesday's Wardrobe

Welcome back for another round of what I wore this week!
I have to admit, between research papers, midterms and migraines, I haven't been too motivated to put effort into my appearance. To be honest, this is what my uniform has been these past few days:

Yep,
sweats
old man sweater
ponytail
and no makeup.
Classy right?

Despite what that picture shows, I did manage to put together two actual outfits this week

This one is my favorite:
Can you tell I was excited to wear all my  finds from this past weekend?

top: old navy $11
jeans: LC for kohls via GW $5.99
boots: Carlos via GW $7.99

necklace: everyday icing

This was my first attempt at stacking bracelets. I loved how it turned out!
Chevron braclets: everyday icing
watch, + two brown bracelets: GW $.99-$1.99

and the last outfit was exploding with color and pattern.
I think I went a little loco on this outfit choice.

 Jacket: GW $2.99
Lace top: LC for Kohls $7.00
tank: Target $8
earrings: GW $1.99
mustard flats: Antonio Melani via GW $4.99

polka dot pants: Old navy $12

and that's all I've got!
Happy Wednesday!
